hope that all of us will still be in touch.

Second day of camp

Left school at around 7.10 ++ with Elis
Since I wasn't around as i went to khco to help out for the chinese orchestral music exchange, the campers were playing water bombs cleaning the shade house and some bad thing took place...

About the music exchange,
6 schools were there. PJC, BBSS, BPGH, TWSS, NLSS (Northland), NHSS.
Got a lot of trouble. This and that. -.-
After the whole exchange thingum, went for dinner with Kelvin, Su Zhen, Jin Ying, Donna, Qinjie and Cher Yuan.

After eating, rush back to school, wanting to help out. But when i reached school, they were already done. So went to bathe then watched horror movie (me playing Darren's psp), girls screamed darn loud. So they change the movie to a comedy (russell peters) damn funny.

Went to sleep at 1.30 am. TIRED!!!

6:36 PM

Today is the 3rd day of the HCI sabbatical course.
Today we did a 'natural' filtration on the water sample we got from Sungei Buloh.
But firstly, we have to treat the water.
What we [ Linson, Jin loong (Lindson), Peiling and me] did was coagulation and flocculation, followed by sedimentation; then filtration and finally disinfection.
During the process, many things took place.

materials used

Pebbles wrapped in cloth

Coagulation and Flocculation

Sedimentation

Filtration

The end product

By right, the end product shouldn't be so clear.
This was assisted by the teachers as they don't want us to waste time, therefore, they gave us filter paper.

Tested the treated water by its temperature, pH, Dissolved Oxygen, Turbidity, Nitrates, Phosphates and Coliform Bacteria.

Chemicals used for testing Dissolved Oxygen

10:17 PM

Today is the second day of the Sabbatical course.
Today we went to the Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve.
During the broadwalk, I seriously dont understand why they are so thrilled when the others spotted the 1st crab. Wad's so exciting abt crabs? Seriously, I dont understand why.
Subsequently, someone spotted the mudskipper. They were so enthu in it that they took damn lot of photos there. Spotted one take many, spotted another one, take more photos. -.-
But there is something I must say. HC students are mostly polite, enthu (in terms of activities), friendly, communicative (sometimes they 'quarrel') , caring (for the nature) and of course; curious (they saw 'outsiders' give us the shocking look as if they have never seen a human before) lol.
Not that I wanted to say this or that someone forced me to say so but this is in fact what I noticed. Im referring to most, not all.

As some of you people know, HCI and HJC are linked. Therefore, the whole school compound is darn big; maybe even 3 times bigger than my school and most school. Guess what i found out, their school have many different blocks of buildings; each block is actually for one subject (example: science block) .

Photos of what I took will be uploaded soon. Just that Im waiting for Calvin (my classmate/ friend) to send me the photos via e-mail. How I wished that camera was mine so that i can show u fascinating photos of the nature reserve.

Today is the 1st day I went to HCI for the Sabbatical course.
Made new friends and learnt most things that are related to my CCA, life-science.
Learnt how to use a data logger ('old' according to a JSS student that was there mentioning that their school's data logger was more 'new').
So went around their school and their library. huge difference

HCI's library. DAMN BIG!

What the heck, SO MANY BOOKS (this is just one side of the library) o.o

STAIRCASE! SO COOL -.-

now u should know wad i mean...

11:38 PM

Today watched another documentary, Taboo. Today's episode was abt autopsy, living with the dead and ...

The part whereby they showed how an autopsy is done was totally gross.
They dissected a corpse that died due to sudden death.
The body of the corpse was full of rashes.
When they dissected it, they took out the lungs; observing that this person was a heavy smoker due to the black patches of tar on the lungs.
following that, they cut out the heart, and realized that there is a 'clog' in one of the vessels. This 'clog' is formed by cholesterol and many things that we eat like fats...
After the whole autopsy, they even have to sow back the corpse.

that's abt all. heww, that wasnt that bad. opps, i guess i was wrong. XP

9:19 PM

Common Tests are finally over.
free at last. but not forgetting the projects given.
and the stress given by teachers abt the 'horrifying' o levels

Recently, watch a documentary. It's abt this place in a country (forgotten the name) where many Jews were killed by different cruel method by the Nazis. One was that Jews were brought to a chamber, told that they were given to bathe; so when the water came out of the sprinklers, they took off their clothings (preventing them from using the clothes to block their noses from the poisonous gas) . Not noticing that the poisonous gas was released while they were bathing happily (as they were able to bathe after a few days-weeks). It took abt 20mins for the Jews to inhale the gas, but took 20 hrs to clear the corpses out of the chamber. Then another room was to cut out the tatoos on the Jews ( no idea why). Another method was even more cruel. The Nazi soldiers told the Jews to stand in a row at the edge of a cliff that has a deep river below. Then one by one, they told the Jews to push the person in front of them off the cliff as the Jews will hit the rocks while falling before drowning into the river and die.

The only thing i know is that the Nazis are cruel and sadistic.
Why must they kill the Jews using torturous methods?
If they want to kill them badly, why cant they just kill them instantly?
Why must they let them hav the fear before they die?

If only the Nazis knew these questions before doing these cruel things. I think the world would be war- free. But without all these happening, i don't think that there will be history for us to learn and understand.
