Friday, October 24, 2008 8:07 AM extract DNA(De oxy ri bo-Nu cleic A cid) from strawberryfirstly, mash up the strawberry into puree, then pour DNA extraction buffer(dishwashing detergent, NaCl and water) into the puree. wait for about 1 minute. next, pour the mixture into the filter paper and let the mixture filtrate itself. afterwards, pour equal volume of cold ethanol into the filtrate(strawberry juice). you will then notice that DNA precipitate will be between the strawberry juice and the ethanol, the DNA will look like little bubbles of air floating in mid-air. slowly, the DNA will float to the top. pictures of the DNA were taken.
